Manchester United have scored nine goals in their last three games in all competitions. The figure should ease tensions concerning Erik ten Hag’s men’s ability to score goals.
However, at the same time, Man United have conceded seven goals in these games, underlining just how atrocious their defending has been.
Now, it would be unfair to pin all the blame on their backline, who have consistently been left exposed thanks to their midfield and Erik ten Hag’s questionable tactics. Still, there is no denying that the Red Devils would have fared better this season with more quality options at the heart of their defence.
Heading into the summer transfer window, a new centre-back signing must be on the club’s wish list.
In that regard, United could do a lot worse than approaching Tosin Adarabioyo for a free transfer this summer.
The 26-year-old has been a rock-solid presence for Fulham this season, and it is understood the London outfit are keen to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.
That being said, Fulham hold little power in this situation as Adarabioyo’s contract expires at the end of the season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the central defender has been offered new contract proposals but he has decided to leave Fulham as a free agent, having already informed the club of his ‘final decision’.
Recently, the Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are eyeing a deal to secure the Englishman’s services. But they are not the only club in the queue. The Italian transfer guru states several clubs are in the race for Adarabioyo.
However, the arrival of Jason Wilcox could boost the club’s chances.
United’s new technical director has previously served as Manchester City’s head of academy, overseeing the development of many top talents, including Adarabioyo during his time at the club.
The former City academy star may fancy a chance of reuniting with Wilcox on the other half of Manchester.
