Per MLS rules, it is a direct breach of contract to play in another league while contracted to a team and gave CF Montreal an easy decision to terminate Milijevic’s deal after an investigation.

Montreal confirmed Milijevic’s departure from the club for “engaging in conduct detrimental to the league and violating his standard Player Agreement.”

According to a report from Quebec sports publication Dans Les Coulisses, Milijevic was convinced to play in the amateur league by a friend.

The 22-year-old scored six goals and notched two assists in the three games he played, although six of his eight goal contributions took place in a single game.

But his time in the QCSL took a sour turn when he was involved in a physical altercation with an opponent where he allegedly spat and hit his rival, which resulted in Milijevic being banned for life from the amateur league.

Milijevic’s real background as a professional footballer was soon uncovered by QCSL officials, he was asked to play under his real name if he wanted to keep playing in the league.

The attacking midfielder joined the Canadian side in August 2021 from Argentinian club Argentinos Juniors and scored two goals and had two assists across 35 regular season appearances for Montreal.
