Although they’ve already qualified as group winners, Bayern Munich are without six players for their Champions League game against Inter on Tuesday night. Julian Nagelsmann is expected to rotate heavily, giving players that wouldn’t often start an opportunity to showcase their ability.
“We will have to rotate because we have a few injured players and a few very tired players who shouldn’t play more than 45 minutes,” said Nagelsmann.
Bouna Sarr is out, Leroy Sané and Lucas Hernandez have both returned to team training but are not quite ready to return to the squad. Matthijs de Ligt was substituted in Bayern’s 6-2 win against Mainz and has a knee problem, but is expected to return against Hertha Berlin at the weekend.
Nagelsmann will also be without Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller, two players that have missed a large chunk of October. Because of Bayern’s growing injury list and fitness concerns, Ryan Gravenberch is expected to start.
