Milan are still interested in signing Daichi Kamada on a free transfer, but interest in RLC seems to have faded after the change in management.

Milan have had a change in management this week, as owner Gerry Cardinale sacked Paolo Maldini and then had Frederic Massara follow him out, but some targets have not changed in terms of the transfer market.

The new Diavolo are led by a team in the sporting side, with Chief of Scouts Geoffrey Moncada having more power than before, and CEO Giorgio Furlani more involved.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, Milan have made a final decision to go ahead with the signing of Daichi Kamada on a free transfer this summer. Kamada was a target of Maldini and Massara as well, and it’s believed there’s a deal in place for 4-year deal worth €3m per season.

In the last few days, Milan had a meeting with Giuseppe Bozzo, who acts as an intermediary in the Kamada operation to define the final details. Kamada was called “an intelligent player” by Stefano Pioli, and he can give the coach more options in the trequartista role, as Brahim Díaz leaves the club to return to Real Madrid and the future of Charles De Ketelaere remains in doubt.

On the other hand, Milan seem to have dropped their interest in Ruben Loftus-Cheek of Chelsea. The 27-year-old does not convince the new management due to the cost related to the operation (€15-20m) and the age of the player. RLC was one of the primary targets of Maldini and Massara to reinforce the midfield, but Moncada and co. have different players in mind, like Youri Tielemans.

The summer has barely started and there are already many names. Marco Sportiello has already signed and he will come as a back-up goalkeeper, but nothing else is fully-defined yet.
