Werder Bremen are likely to lose Mitchell Weiser this summer, according to Sky Germany.
Though Werder have just secured a massive signing in Naby Keïta, they’re on the verge of losing another key team player. Weisser was a key defender for the side last season and made the right-back position his own.
However, the 29-year-old has an exit clause in his contract of just €3m, which would be a bargain for any club. FC Augsburg have registered interest in the defender, however, it’s unlikely that Weisser will make the move south.
This is because there is also interest from abroad. However, should a club have Weisser on their wishlist, they only have a few days to trigger the exit clause. Everything hangs in balance when it comes to the player’s future. Expect the next week to be crucial.
Weiser scored four goals and eleven assists in 32 competitive games for Bremen last season.
