Lazio central defender Nicolo Casale is edging closer towards the exit door as the former Verona player’s move to Bologna is slowly materializing.
Gianluca Di Marzio indicates that the Italian international is seemingly set to part ways from the Biancocelesti for coach Vincenzo Italiano’s side on loan deal with the option to buy that would turn into an obligation in the even that the Rossoblu qualify for European football.
Although Casale’s contract runs out in the summer of 2027, Lazio are opened to offload the Italian defender as he is not to be considered in coach Marco Baroni’s plan following his recent rough patch of form.
In the even that Casale moves to Bologna, the capital club will pursue Marseille defender Samuel Gigot as the replacement signing in order to fill the void within the back-line.
Throughout last year’s campaign, the 30-year-old central defender made a total of 21 appearances in the Ligue 1 for the French giants, scoring three goals within those fixtures.
