Manchester City are targeting Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze and Wolves’ Matheus Nunes ahead of the transfer deadline, according to multiple reports.

After opting against signing West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta, the Mail claim that the Premier League champions are weighing up a move for Eze instead, while The Athletic believe Nunes is also being considered.

When asked to choose which player City should sign, there was a mixed response among fans with many on X saying they want both:

Eze and Nunes have different profiles

It is actually somewhat surprising that City are looking at both Eze and Nunes, considering they are quite different in terms of their style of play.

Nunes is much more of a traditional ‘8’ who likes to carry the ball forward. Eze, on the other hand, prefers to play closer to the opposition penalty box, taking on opponents with his dribbling ability.

City could still have rivals for the two players

Ironically, both Eze and Nunes have also been linked with Liverpool over the past year. When asked about transfer rumours back in May, the Crystal Palace player responded by saying:

“I’m not really too bothered about that. I’m just focusing on the present. I want to continue enjoying it and contributing to the team as much as I can. I’m improving every game.”

You can bet, though, that if City make a concerted effort to sign Eze, he would be very enthusiastic about the move.
