Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas praised Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez for his role in helping Argentina win the World Cup.
The 22-year-old is pretty much the understudy for Erling Haaland at club level but, based on his exploits out in Qatar, it looks as though the Citizens have two of the best strikers in the world. Fabregas has jokingly questioned the fairness of one club having both players:
Manchester City with Julian Alvarez and Haaland is not very fair is it? 🫣

Alvarez really excelled at the World Cup. After replacing Lautaro Martinez in the starting lineup for the final group game against Poland, the forward hasn’t looked back.
Four goals and one assist in five starts is a truly excellent return, and his confidence will be sky-high when he returns to Manchester in the coming days.
It will be pretty interesting to see whether manager Pep Guardiola starts Alvarez on a more regular basis in the second half of the season. He certainly warrants more game time going by his international form.
