Eintracht Frankfurt have today announced the signing of Donny van de Beek from Manchester United on loan with an option to buy.

The Dutchman arrived in Hessen with Fares Chaibi (Algeria) and Ellyes Skhiri (Tunisia) both likely representing their countries at the African Cup of Nations, with kicks off this month.

“Donny van de Beek fits our game idea perfectly and is an important piece of the puzzle for our team,” said SGE Sporting Director Michael Krösche. “He brings a lot of international experience that our young players will benefit from. Donny exudes a goal threat and, above all, should put our attackers in promising positions.”

Van de Beek played 163 games across all competitions for Ajax before joining Manchester United for £40m in 2020, where he has played 62 times, but the 26-year-old failed to establish himself under Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, playing just 21 minutes of football across two games this season.

Eintracht Frankfurt currently find themselves in sixth having lost just four Bundesliga games this season, with only Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund losing fewer. The Hessen outfit also find themselves in the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
