Borussia Dortmund host Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday evening as Die Schwarzgelben look for their first win against the Rekordmeister since November 2018.
Coming into the game, Edin Terzić is sweating on the fitness of Marius Wolf and Emre Can. According to Kicker, Wolf is now expected to start at right-back, but the game against Bayern may come too soon for Can, at least to start on the bench. There’s still a chance BVB’s captain could make the bench. That of course would mean a midfield partnership of Salih Özcan and Marcel Sabitzer.
Julian Brandt started last weekend on the bench against Eintracht Frankfurt but came off to score an equaliser. He’s Dortmund’s key player in the attacking third and he’s expected to return to the starting eleven in place of Gio Reyna. Donyell Malen, Marco Reus – who scored in Dortmund’s DFB Pokal win against Hoffenheim in midweek – and Niclas Füllkrug are all expected to start.
Sébastien Haller, Karim Adeyemi, Felix Nmecha, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Youssoufa Moukoko all remain options off the bench for Borussia Dortmund.
