Jadon Sancho and Ian Maatsen have both travelled with the Borussia Dortmund squad ahead of their Bundesliga Topspiel game against Darmstadt on Saturday evening.
Both players arrived at the club within the last 48 hours and have given positive impressions in training but it’s unlikely that neither will start, with Edin Terzić stating that he doesn’t want to rush Sancho into the starting XI after not playing for a long period of time. That of course means that Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who has excelled this season, will likely retain his place in BVB’s attack.
Terzić is also without Ramy Bensebaini and Sébastien Haller, both of whom are representing their country at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Karim Adeyemi, Felix Nmecha and Julian Ryerson are all absent through injury.
Thomas Meunier has also found form once again and is expected to start ahead of Marius Wolf, while Youssoufa Moukoko, Marco Reus and Gio Reyna all remain options from the bench.
