Paris Saint-Germain will reject all approaches to sign Xavi Simons on a permanent deal this summer, with a loan exit the only option that will be considered.

Simons spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig and impressed to earn inclusion in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.

The 21-year-old scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists across all competitions and Leipzig are keen to re-sign the Netherlands international on another loan arrangement.

However, Leipzig face competition from the Premier League and Bayern Munich. The latter are pushing hard to sign Simons, though had initially enquired about a loan deal with an obligation to purchase the player.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that PSG will not entertain permanent offers for the midfielder who is viewed as part of the long-term plans of the French champions.

Simons has informed PSG of his desire to spend another season out on loan as the midfielder looks to continue his development. He re-signed for the Ligue 1 side last summer after PSG activated a buy-back clause, having ended the 2022-23 campaign as the joint-leading scorer in the Eredivisie for PSV Eindhoven.

Bayern Munich have shortlisted Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo as an alternative should the Bavarians miss out on Simons. The Spain international has a release clause of €60m that can be activated before July 15.
