RB Leipzig are keeping tabs on Folarin Balogun as a potential successor to Christopher Nkunku, according to Sky Germany.
Nkunku will leave the Saxons this summer when he moves to Chelsea in the Premier League. For now, the search goes on to find the forward’s successor.
One player of interest is Folarian Balogun (21) who is currently for Stade de Reims on loan from Arsenal.
In the eyes of managing director Max Eberl and sporting director Rouven Schröder, the American international fits the bill. He is young, strong in one-on-one duals, and has the potential to increase in market value.
However, the forward won’t come cheap. It’s reported that Arsenal could demand around €40m for the 21-year-old.
One way the Saxons could raise the funds is by selling André Silva. The Portuguese never quite lived up to expectations at Leipzig. The club could fetch around €20 for the 27-year-old.
