Manchester City have “real and concrete” interest in AC Milan youngster Francesco Camarda, according to Calciomercato.com.

The forward has recently turned 16 and he is now eligible to sign a professional contract, which has attracted the attention of the Premier League champions.

Camarda is a very promising young talent, with it being claimed that he has scored over 500 goals in youth football.

It is, therefore, not surprising that City have been joined by other teams in pursuing the Italian, with Calciomercato reporting that Arsenal and Newcastle are also interested.

They claim that all three clubs are “ready to propose” contracts to Camarda that would see him become part of the first-team squad within two years.

What do fans need to know about Camarda?

As well as having a very impressive record at youth level for his club, the striker has caught the eye at international level, having scored goals for Italy’s Under 15s, Under 16s and Under 17s.

Milan even handed Camarda his senior debut not that long ago. He got his first appearance against Fiorentina in late November and he also came on as a substitute in the subsequent Serie A fixture versus Frosinone.

Do City have a chance of securing the player’s signature?

It does look like Camarda’s preference is to remain at Milan. Initial discussions over signing a new contract did not go very well, which has prompted speculation about a move to the Premier League.

However, there is believed to be willingness from all parties to get a deal agreed so the Italian youth international commits his long-term future to the Rossoneri. A contract until 2027 is believed to have been drawn up.

City will surely be among the clubs to swoop in if negotiations do stall but, for now, all the signs point towards Camarda remaining at the San Siro.
