Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has been waxing lyrical about Phil Foden’s form in training.
Speaking ahead of England’s game against Serbia, Rice said that everyone has been very impressed with the Manchester City player:
“He turned up three days ago and he’s been out of this world in training Everyone has been talking about him: ‘Have you seen Phil in training?’ He’s that good. So, so special.”
Fans on X are glad that Rice recognises the talent of his international teammate but they are worried that Foden won’t get the chance to shine in an England shirt:

Foden is expected to line up on the left flank against Serbia
With Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate set to start Jude Bellingham through the middle and Bukayo Saka on the right, it does appear that Foden will be picked on the left wing.
Some City fans will argue that it isn’t his best position but he hasn’t disappointed when being deployed there at club level by Pep Guardiola, having scored 6 goals and contributed 4 assists in 12 appearances.
The City midfielder will want to cap off an outstanding season by starring at the Euros
Having been awarded the FWA Footballer of the Year for his performances for City, Foden now has the opportunity to make a similar impact for his country.
It would be a great way for him to end the campaign personally if he lights up the European Championships.
