Bournemouth could not make it two wins in two after goals from Evan Ferguson and Julio Ensico helped Brighton pick up a 2-0 win on the south coast.

Brighton recalled fit-again striker Evan Ferguson for the visit to relegation-threatened Bournemouth.

The Republic of Ireland international, who missed the 3-3 weekend draw with Brentford with an unspecified injury, came in alongside defender Adam Webster, with Levi Colwill and Danny Welbeck dropping to the bench.

Bournemouth, who sit a point and a place above the bottom three, also opted for two changes.

Midfielder Hamed Traore and winger Ryan Christie were recalled in place of Joe Rothwell and Jaidon Anthony following Saturday’s 2-1 comeback win over Fulham.

Brighton took a 28th-minute lead through a sublime flicked finish from the recalled Ferguson.

The 18-year-old backheeled the ball home from around eight yards out following Kaoru Mitoma’s low cross into the box.

Brighton made sure of the points with an injury-time goal through youngster Julio Ensico.
