Only seven clubs are still unbeaten in Europe’s top leagues after Liverpool and Manchester City lost over the weekend.
The Reds tasted defeat in controversial circumstances on Saturday when they had a goal wrongly ruled out for offside and saw two players sent off against Tottenham, before conceding a last minute own goal.
Over at Molineux, Man City’s perfect record this season was spoiled as Pep Guardiola lost to Wolves for the third time in his career. They are now just one point ahead of Arsenal ahead of a huge Premier League clash next week.
So, which teams are still holding on to their unbeaten records a few months into the season? There are still a few teams in England, France, Germany and Spain who are yet to lose, while every club in Italy has lost at least once.
The seven unbeaten teams in Europe’s top five leagues:
Arsenal
Despite avoiding defeat in their opening seven games, Arsenal find themselves third in the Premier League behind Tottenham on goals scored and leaders Manchester City by a point.
The Gunners have not been overly convincing in many of their outings thus far, but they tuned up for Sunday’s meeting with City by swatting aside Bournemouth with ease.
Record so far: five wins, two draws.
Feyenoord forward on Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs radar
Barcelona
Like Arsenal, Barcelona find themselves behind the league leaders despite remaining unbeaten through their first eight games, with Real Madrid topping the table.
Xavi’s men have had to come from behind on three occasions in order to avoid defeat already this season, which makes for exciting viewing but suggests La Blaugrana still have plenty of room for improvement.
Record so far: six wins, two draws.
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich have not been overly impressive in their first six games of the new Bundesliga campaign, even if they are yet to lose in the competition.
They very nearly lost for the first time on Saturday when RB Leipzig took a two-goal lead, but a Harry Kane penalty and an equaliser from Leroy Sané secured them a point. They sit third in the table.

Borussia Dortmund
Another rather unimpressive German outfit, Borussia Dortmund have managed to remain unbeaten in the league so far as they set out to avenge last year’s final day title heartbreak.
Edin Terzic will need to raise his team’s levels if they are to challenge for top honours again, but the squad lack the kind of starpower they’ve had in previous seasons, with Jude Bellingham the latest to leave the club in a big money move.

Leverkusen
With the traditional big two lurking in third and fourth place, Bayer Leverkusen find themselves on top of the Bundesliga standings after an impressive start to the campaign.
No team has scored more goals than Xabi Alonso’s side (20), while only one team have conceded fewer goals than their six. They’re not expected to last the pace, but they could make a big splash nonetheless this year.

OGC Nice
The one remaining undefeated team in France is not Paris Saint-Germain, would you believe, but OGC Nice – the club owned by British businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who has been trying to buy Manchester United from the Glazers.
They do not, however, boast a particularly impressive record after seven games, having won three and drawn four, leaving them fourth in Ligue 1 just ahead of PSG.
Record so far: three wins, four draws.
Tottenham Hotspur
No one quite imagined Ange Postecoglou would get off to such a great start at Spurs, but he has managed to get good results while instilling attractive football at the club.
The win over Liverpool was fortunate on a number of levels, but Tottenham have already shown huge progress after a disastrous 2022/23 campaign.
