Manchester City fans have been discussing rumours that Kalvin Phillips is a target for Manchester United.
It was reported by English tabloid The Sun earlier this week that the Red Devils could make a move for the England international, although those claims have since been played down.
Fans on X believe Phillips deserves to play for a team who have a better chance of winning silverware than their Manchester rivals:

He’s such a nice guy, we can’t sell him to united because it would be very disrespectful

Just hope he finds playing times somewhere. I do not like how pep seeked him out for a lot of cash and never gave him an opportunity to prove himself. I realize pep likely did not see what he wanted to see from him in practice but still. Hope he starts today.

Guardiola has admitted that he doesn’t rate Phillips
At the weekend, manager Pep Guardiola gave his honest verdict on whether the midfielder has a future at the Etihad Stadium. He said that the midfielder will find it difficult to get into the starting lineup if he doesn’t leave in January:
“It’s just because I visualise some things and visualise the team and things – and I struggle to see him. I’m not very pleased [with myself] and I am so sorry for him. I will not say that [to him] because it is a business and I have to be a professional.”
Two clubs are favourites to sign the City player
Reports in the Italian media have claimed that Phillips has a preference for Juventus, with the Serie A club having guaranteed him starting opportunities. Newcastle are the other team who are prepared to push the boat out for the 28-year-old.
Liverpool have also been mentioned as potential suitors but they are not expected to make a bid for the former Leeds player next month.
