Barcelona are weighing up a loan offer for Manchester City fullback Joao Cancelo, according to Mundo Deportivo.
With Barca unable to afford a permanent move, the La Liga champions are hoping to secure the Portuguese international on a temporary basis.
Considering City are looking to sell Cancelo, fans on Twitter are not impressed that Barcelona are trying to get one of their players on the cheap:
They think we are a charity. Why would we loan him for free 😭. Pay up and gerrout 😮💨

A loan doesn’t make any sense for us. Either pay up or don’t, simple.

No more loan drama for him. Just sell him permanently.

Cancelo’s situation is a tricky one to resolve
After Bayern Munich opted against signing the 29-year-old on a permanent deal for €70m (£60m), City have so far failed to find a potential suitor willing to buy the player for a satisfactory price.
Premier League rivals Arsenal have also been suggested as an option for Cancelo but the Gunners have subsequently decided to recruit Jurrien Timber from Ajax instead.
Inter Milan are reportedly interested in the defender as well but the Nerazzurri don’t currently have the funds to match City’s demands.
City may need to replace two fullbacks soon
It has been confirmed by multiple sources that Kyle Walker is now looking to leave the Etihad in order to join Bayern.
If the England international does end up making the switch to Germany, and Cancelo also departs the club in the next few weeks, manager Pep Guardiola will have limited options at right-back. You would have to think the treble winners will go into the market before the transfer window shuts to replace the pair.
