Thomas Tuchel has admitted to feeling more appreciated in England than he does in Germany.
When asked the question by ESPN’s Archie Rhind-Tutt, Tuchel said: “Yes. [..] I feel that we are very critical with each other in Germany and especially with players or coaches and not only with me.”
Tuchel has recently been criticised by Dietmar Hamann and Lothar Matthäus following Bayern Munich’s DFB Pokal against against 3. Liga side Saabrüken in November. The Rekordmeister also suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt last month, while they currently four points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen with a game in hand.

Comparisons between England and Germany kept coming up over the course of our conversation. So I asked him if he felt more appreciation in 🏴. He said yes…@ESPNFC pic.twitter.com/Cr96xYlkiE

Tuchel was in charge of 100 games during his time at Chelsea, which included winning the Champions League in 2021.
Bayern Munich face upcoming games against Werder Bremen, Union Berlin, Augsburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen before travelling to Italy to face Lazio in the Champions League Round of 16.
