Tottenham have accepted an offer of more than €100m from Bayern Munich for Harry Kane.

Bayern had seen three bids for Kane rejected this summer but have returned with an improved fourth bid worth in excess of €100m, a proposal which Spurs have now accepted.

Kane has entered the final 12 months of his contract in north London and Spurs run the risk of losing the club’s leading goalscorer on a free transfer next summer, with a decision made to accept a bid from Bayern that would represent a club-record sale.

The Athletic are reporting that Kane had been leaning towards staying at Spurs this season, but now faces a decision on his future. The 30-year-old has failed to win silverware in his career to date and a transfer to Bayern would provide the forward with a greater chance of major trophies.

Bayern won an 11th consecutive Bundesliga title in 2022/23 and will be among the favourites for Champions League success this season, following a summer transfer window that has seen Raphael Guerreiro and Konrad Laimer arrive on free transfers alongside the addition of Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae.

Bayern view Kane as the ideal candidate to replace the goalscoring void left by Robert Lewandowski’s sale to Barcelona last summer.

Kane scored 30 league goals for Spurs last season and is just 48 goals from Alan Shearer’s Premier League record, a source of potential motivation to remain in English football.
