Opta have produced their findings of the top five leagues and the number of minutes they gave to players under-21 throughout the 2022/23 season.

In the Bundesliga, Union Berlin are the standout as they gave zero minutes to players under-21 last season. Their youngest player used was Jamie Leweling (22) who played 16 times for Union, all off of the bench. Union also had the second oldest squad in the league at 28y 116d with Bochum ahead with 29y 354d.

At the other end of the spectrum, Borussia Dortmund gave the most minutes to players under-21 (5553). This is mainly due to Jude Bellingham (19) featuring in 31 games for Dortmund as they finished second in the league. Other players included at Youssoufa Moukoko (18), Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (19) and Karim Adeyemi (21).

Bayer Leverkusen had the youngest squad in the league with an average age of 25y 11d while Wolfsburg (25y 57d) and VfB Stuttgart (25y 62d) were not far behind.
