Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden missed the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend due to illness.
Speaking before the game at the City Ground, manager Pep Guardiola said that the 23-year-old wasn’t feeling well enough to be involved in the matchday squad:
“He is not ready, He is ill. He didn’t feel good, discomfort today, and he is back to Manchester. It is what it is. It is a long season, they always happen these kind of things.”
It is expected that Foden should be back in contention for the Premier League champions’ next fixture, as long as the symptoms don’t linger.
