Bild reports that despite the loss to VfB Stuttgart in the DFB Pokal on Tuesday, Urs Fischer will remain as Union Berlin coach.

Last night saw Union extend their winless run to 11 games as they suffered their second defeat to Stuttgart in 10 days with a 1-0 loss thanks to a Deniz Undav goal. Fischer received support from Union President Dirk Zingler. The club president is aware of what Fischer has done at the club since joining in 2018, turning them from a 2.Bundesliga club to a Bundesliga.

Fischer also continues to receive support from the players as well, captain Christopher Trimmel expressed his support for Fischer: “Urs Fischer should remain coach. If I had the feeling in the cabin that the coach would no longer arrive, I would say something else. But that’s not the case at all. Everyone has to pull together. Then we’ll get out of there. Urs Fischer is the right person for that.”

A change of coach at the moment is also not ideal as Union face Eintracht Frankfurt, Napoli and then Bayer Leverkusen before the international break.

However, if things do not improve the next ideal time to change coach would be either the November international break or the winter break.
