The 2023/24 Premier League campaign may have only just come to a dramatic conclusion, but supporters are already looking ahead to next season.
There is, of course, plenty to come in between, with the small matter of the Copa America, European Championship and Olympics over the next few months. On top of this, there will be the usual frenzy that comes with the summer transfer window.
However, while a small Premier League break can refresh supporters up and down the country, it won’t be long before fans are champing at the bit for England’s top flight to get back underway.
Here is everything you need to know ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
The Premier League has confirmed the start and end dates for the 2024/25 campaign, with the season kicking off on the weekend of 17/18 August. It will cover 33 weekends and four midweek rounds before coming to a conclusion on Sunday 25 May.
There will be a little over a month between the end of Euro 2024 and the 2024 Copa America (both 14 July) and the beginning of the new Premier League season, with pre-season matches generally starting for the division’s clubs in mid to late July.
Football at the Summer Olympics will come to a close on 10 August – just a week before the season commences – with Premier League players unlikely to get an enormous rest before the 2024/25 campaign.
There will not be a winter break next season due to the Premier League authorising an extended summer break which allows players greater time to recover during pre-season, despite extra playing time during summer international tournaments.
The 2024/25 summer transfer window will open in the Premier League on Friday 14 June and shut a little over two months later at 23:00 BST on Friday 30 August – two weeks after the Premier League campaign begins.
Fortunately, elite leagues across Europe – including La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga – will all see their windows slam shut on the same date, even if the exact time may differ.
It’s always an exciting day when the Premier League fixtures are officially released for the new campaign and supporters will know their clubs’ schedule at 09:00 BST on Tuesday 18 June.
Manchester City will be chasing a fifth successive Premier League title and Arsenal will be hoping to stop them in their tracks, as will Liverpool in their first season without Jurgen Klopp at the helm in over eight years.
