Manchester City “could end up” making an offer for Inter Milan fullback Federico Dimarco next summer, according to InterLive.it.

The website claims that the Premier League champions are looking out for a recognised left-back, having deployed Josko Gvardiol in the position for most of this season.

However, supporters on X have been debating whether Dimarco should be a transfer target, and some have even questioned whether City actually need to reinforce the left-hand side of defence:

Inter won’t make the defender available on the cheap

InterLive report that Dimarco’s asking price could be as high as €60m (£52m). That would be a substantial fee to spend on a position that some don’t believe needs to be strengthened.

The Cityzens are also said to be pursuing a much cheaper alternative who may only cost €10m (£8.7m).

Dimarco has been linked with City before

Back in February, Dimarco’s name was suggested as a potential replacement for Joao Cancelo and, since then, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United have also been mentioned as possible suitors.

It should be pointed out that the Italian, who has been capped 14 times by his country, is in the process of negotiating a new contract, which could scupper any plans that City or other clubs had to sign him.
