Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko has decided to join Marseille on loan, a report has revealed.

The teenager’s agent recently lashed out at Dortmund for a series of broken promises which had left Moukoko looking to take his talents elsewhere as he seeks to finally live up to the potential he showed in youth football.

Amid interest in his services from England, France and Spain, Moukoko has opted to head to Marseille, with Fabrizio Romano revealing that talks over a loan deal are underway.

Moukoko’s move to Marseille is expected to include the option for a permanent transfer next summer.

Marseille have been active in the summer transfer market. Having recruited Roberto de Zerbi as their new manager, the French side have already bolstered in attack with the signing of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.

There had also been interest from Marseille in Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah. The Gunners want close to £30m for their homegrown striker – a fee which may have convinced Marseille to look elsewhere.

Despite limited minutes in senior football, Moukoko boasts a thoroughly impressive goal record. His return of 17 goals in 76 Bundesliga games may not catch the eye but he does average one goal per 140 minutes of action.

Last season, Moukoko bagged five goals in just 613 minutes – a record the striker’s agent was keen to highlight as he began the search for a new club.

Moukoko’s contract with Dortmund still has two years left to run.
