Meet the 35 golfers who made the cut at Champions Retreat

There are 18 holes left to determine the Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion.

After 36 holes at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Georgia, Florida State sophomore Lottie Woad leads by two shots at 5-under 139. She’s two shots in front of 16-year-old Gianna Clemente and Florida senior Maisie Filler.

The cut came at 3-over 147, with 35 golfers making the final round Saturday at Augusta National Golf Club. Anna Davis, the 2022 champion, finished her round at 3 over but was penalized a shot for slow play and will miss the final round for the second straight year after a penalty.

Here’s a look at the 35 golfers who can earn a life-changing victory Saturday at Augusta National.

One of two players to shoot under par in both rounds, the sophomore at Florida State finished 13th last year in her debut.

The other player to shoot two rounds under par, Clemente won the 2023 Girls’ Junior PGA and placed T-14 last year in her ANWA debut.

Filler, a senior at Florida, has won three times for the Gators this year and has been one of the best collegiate players in the country.

Sambach held the solo lead at one point Thursday in the second round, but in her fourth ANWA appearance, she’s in position for her best finish (two MCs and T-14 in 2023).

The 18-year-old is making her ANWA debut, but she has been one of the best collegiate players the past two years.

The world’s No. 1 amateur didn’t have a birdie Thursday but carded 15 pars and is in solid position for another top ANWA finish.

Also making her ANWA debut, Rydqvist made the cut in her LPGA debut at The Annika in the fall.

The fifth-year at Michigan has a knack for showing up at big events. She was a semifinalist at the 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur.

Darling was the solo leader after an opening-round 66 with a record eight birdies, but she remains well in the hunt.

The freshman at USC made the cut for the first time in three appearances at ANWA, and in 2018 she was a Drive, Chip and Putt runner-up in the Girls 12-13 category.

Perhaps the most consistent player over the first two days, Weidenfeld recorded two rounds of even-par 72 to begin ANWA.

This year, the Stanford commit reached the quarterfinals of the Spanish Women’s Amateur and finished T-8 in the Girls’ Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in South Carolina.

It’s no surprise the one player who has played in every edition of ANWA made the cut, even if she doesn’t play as much as every other player in the field.

With boyfriend Alex Fitzpatrick on the bag, Kuehn made the cut on the number and has the talent to make a run Saturday.

This is Cooper’s first time playing ANWA, and she made the cut. Her first two invites were taken away because of the COVID pandemic and then she got COVID the next year.

The 2024 Australian Women’s Amateur champion made the cut in her second ANWA appearance.

The best round of the day Thursday was Bernat Escuder’s 69, the only score in the 60s, and it helped her make the cut on the number.

The youngest player in the field (15) made the cut in her first appearance. So, there will be an Asterisk at Augusta National this year after all.
