It doesn’t take a genius to know drinking and posting on social media rarely ends well.

Evidently, someone forgot to tell LIV Golf star Richard Bland after he got into a spat with DP World Tour player Eddie Pepperell on Twitter.

It all kicked off on social media thanks to Chase Koepka’s stunning hole-in-one on the 12th hole at LIV’s event in Adelaide which prompted beer showers from the crowd.

One user on Twitter remarked the scenes were akin to that of the iconic 16th hole at the Waste Management Open in Phoenix, where similar beer showers have gone viral.

However, Pepperell clapped back claiming the craziness in Adelaide wasn’t exactly a unique thing for LIV to hang its hat on.

“This has been happening at Scottsdale for years now, so not sure how much LIV is really changing things here,” Pepperell wrote.

Bland then decided to let rip at his fellow Brit.

“Ed … tell me where on DP World there’s been a whole like this? Because in 22yrs of playing the tour I can’t think of any. But maybe your 15 minutes on tour you know different,” Bland wrote.

Little did the LIV star know what Pepperell was cooking.

Pepperell replied: “Where to start … Suppose it’s simple; in my 15 minutes I won more events than you did in 22 years.

“What the Tour has done (just to name a few); GolfSixes, Heineken hole at Himmerland, Beat the Pro in Holland.

“The Tour, which you spent 22 years on did ok for you mate.”

Despite the animosity, the duo viewed the incident as water under the bridge as Bland revealed he had enjoyed perhaps a few too many alcoholic refreshments when he called out Pepperell.

“Unfortunately I did have too many last Ed,” Bland wrote.

“I apologise for what I said. I should know better not to tweet under the influence.”

Bland has since deactivated his Twitter account in what was a brutal lesson as to why you should never drink and tweet.
