Adam Scott has reeled off back-to-back-to-back birdies to start the third round of the Australian Open, putting himself back in contention.

Scott is seven-under for the tournament, five shots behind leader Min Woo Lee.

Lee is in the box seat to become the first player in 12 years to complete the Australian PGA – Australian Open double after winning in Brisbane last weekend.

Cameron Smith’s second round was off to a sluggish start as he found himself in a battle to make the cut, but after a strong back nine, he finished the day at four-under for the tournament.

At -4, Scott and Smith are in a tie for 28th. They will tee off on Saturday at 12:10pm and 12:43pm respectively (AEDT).
