Jack Miller has declared he has a “lot of unfinished business” in MotoGP as the Australian looks to extend his 10-year tenure in the premier class of the world championship in 2025.

The KTM rider, struggling in 15th place in the riders’ standings after the worst start to a season since he was a rookie in 2015, comes out of contract at the end of the year, with the performances of rookie sensation Pedro Acosta on KTM’s sister GasGas machine demanding a place in the factory KTM outfit alongside Miller’s current teammate Brad Binder next season.

In an exclusive interview with Fox Sports’ Jessica Yates, Miller revealed he’s seeking a long-term contract as he enters his 30s, and isn’t ruling out riding for any of the five manufacturers on the MotoGP grid.

“I believe I’ve got a lot of unfinished business here in MotoGP, and I’d like to stick around here,” the four-time Grand Prix winner said.

“We’re weighing up what will be the best option for me long-term. I feel like I can have a good crack at this for another three, four, five years … and then we’ll see. I want something that’s long-term, that’s got value to it … something I can see a future at, some decent headway and a clear goal. I want to win more races.

“There’s conversations, there are options. I’m unsure exactly on what my plans are.

“There’s a lot of things we can do, whether that’s swallowing our pride and going backwards in the sense of a team or position in a team … there’s a lot of moving parts. I think there’s going to be a lot of things shaking up in the contract situations for a lot of guys this year.”

Miller, who admitted he “wanted more” from 2024 after getting himself into the best shape of his career in the off-season, said he’s learned to shut out the constant speculation about his future.

“I couldn’t give a s**t, to be honest,” he said.

“I’ll have a job and I know I’m going to do the best that I, Jack Miller, can possibly do. That’s all that matters.

“I’m used to noise, I’ve been in this game a long time. I rode a factory Ducati for two years and I was in that Ducati program for five years, and you learn to drown the noise out.

“I can ride a motorcycle very well, and I will continue to. At the moment I’ve still got this opportunity to do some great things on this motorcycle, so that’s what I’m trying to do.”

In an expansive interview with Fox Sports, Miller discussed how Michelin’s new rear tyre for 2024 has demanded a change in riding style, his thoughts on Acosta’s ascension, the level of competition across the 22-rider grid, and much more.
