Oscar Piastri and Joel Selwood were special guests at the Australian cricket team’s training session ahead of the second Ashes Test.
Piastri, who was part of a famous old picture gazing up at Ricky Ponting when the former was a child, swapped the McLaren steering wheel for a Kookaburra bat as he faced some throwdowns from Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc in a nets session.

The Aussie motorsport star posted a clip of his time in the nets with the caption: “Late shout for the second #Ashes test?”

Piastri’s visit to the Aussies’ training session is the latest instalment in his whirlwind week of sport.
The 22-year-old spent some time with the Chicago Cubs and St Louis Cardinals at the London Stadium, home of Premier League side West Ham United, as Major League Baseball took its season to England for a brief moment.
Prior to that, Piastri was papped with tennis great Andy Murray and challenged the former Wimbledon champion to a game of padel.
