Two Australians are in singles action on Day 5 of the Australian Open, before Thanasi Kokkinakis and Andy Murray clash in a blockbuster night session.
After a brutal third day for Australian hopes, Alexei Popyrin and Kim Birrell will be vying for third round berths at their home slam, with both having previously achieved the feat.
Popyrin faces a tough task against top-ranked American male Taylor Fritz, who is coming off a career-best year which included a Masters 1000 title at Indian Wells, where he defeated Rafael Nadal in the final.

Birrell will be hoping to continue her comeback from multiple injury setbacks and get through to the third round for just the second time in her career.
The 24-year-old faces unseeded Czech Linda Fruhvirtova, who took out another Australian – Jaimee Fourlis – in the first round.
Former US Open champion Sam Stosur will feature in doubles with Alize Cornet in what Stosur has announced will be her final professional doubles event, a year after retiring from singles.
Elsewhere, six Americans will enter underdogs in their matches, including Shelby Rogers against fifth seed Aryna Sabalenka, Maxime Cressy against ninth seed Holger Rune and Michael Mmoh against 12th seed Alexander Zverev.
