LIV CEO Greg Norman is not in the least upset by the criticism from PGA Tour golfers Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Even as he escalates the feud between the two circuits, Norman said Saturday that he doesn’t pay attention to anything Woods and McIlroy say.
Earlier this week, Woods said Norman “has to go,” the same sentiment McIlroy expressed last month. “I don’t pay attention to McIlroy and Woods,” Norman told ‘Today’s Golfer’ “They have their schedule for whatever reason.
They say what they want to say. They have no effect on me. I’m going to be with LIV for a long period of time,” he assured. The new tour, backed by the Saudis, has taken away many PGA golfers due to higher financial payouts.
Meanwhile, golfers loyal to the PGA Tour have been upset by the way LIV, led by Norman, operates. There is also the matter of both parties filing a lawsuit against the other. Woods said the two circuits cannot find peace as long as Norman continues in his leadership role.
“I see an opportunity if both organizations drop their litigation,” Woods said Tuesday at the Hero World Challenge, where he is hosting the event. “But that’s the problem: they have to suspend it. And whether they do or not, there is no willingness to negotiate if you have litigation against you.

“So if they both stay and then they have a break and then they can meet and figure something out, maybe there’s something to be done. But I think Greg has to go, first of all, and then obviously litigate against us,” he arrived.
to secure Woods. Woods’ comments were similar to those made by McIlroy at the DP World Tour Championship last month. “So I think there are a few things that need to happen,” McIlroy said. “Obviously, there are two lawsuits going on right now: there’s the PGA Tour versus LIV, and there’s this coming up with the DP World Tour in February.
You’re limited in what you can do,” he said. “And then I think whatever happens with those two things, there are some things I’d like to see on the LIV side that need to happen. I think Greg needs to go. I think he just needs to walk off stage left.
He’s left his mark, but I think now is the right time to say, look, you’ve got this unstuck, but no one’s going to talk unless there’s an adult in the room who can really try to fix things.” Norman believes that he can be the one to fix things despite what Woods and McIlroy think.
“Of course it can happen with my leadership,” Norman told Today’s Golfer. “I mean, Tiger could be a messenger, right? Who knows. All I know is that we’re going to keep doing what we’re doing with LIV, and we’re going to keep going.”
In fact, the two-time Grand Slam winner and World Golf Hall of Famer says he’s doing a stellar job running LIV. “No matter where I go in the world, no one, not one person, has ever said that what I’m doing is stupid or wrong,” Norman said.
