Spanish prodigy Carlos Alcaraz will be seeded first after taking world number one from Novak Djokovic last week with a title at Queen’s Club. The two can therefore only meet in the final – which would give Djokovic a chance to win a stunning 24th grand slam singles crown.

World number one Iga Swiatek is the top seed in the women’s singles draw, but has never gone beyond the round of 16 at Wimbledon – her worst record at any slam. She is seeded ahead of 2021 Wimbledon semi-finalist Aryna Sabalenka.

Alex de Minaur is the highest-ranked of the ten Australian competitors and will be seeded 15th, while Nick Kyrgios snuck into the seeds at 31st despite his ranking of 33, after two players pulled out of the tournament.

There are eight men set to compete, with the others being Max Purcell, Jason Kubler, Jordan Thompson, Alexei Popyrin, Chris O’Connell, and Aleksandar Vukic.

Doubles specialist Storm Hunter (nee Sanders) was the sole Australian (of 11 contenders) to successfully make it through qualifying to reach the main singles draw, where she will join Daria Saville as the two women’s competitors.

“I don’t think I can really put it into words. It’s just really, really special. A special moment for not only me, but my team is well,” Hunter said after winning through three qualifying matches.

Top-ranked Aussie women’s player Ajla Tomlkjanovic pulled out with her ongoing knee issue.

The tournament begins on Monday.
