The family of UK tennis great Andy Murray has delivered a scathing attack on Wimbledon for a new piece of artwork depicting the sport’s champions – with him missing.
Murray, a two-time Wimbledon champion who became the first male Briton to win the Championships in 77 years when he broke through in 2013, was not depicted in the promotional material.
It shows some of Wimbledon’s famous rivalries, including Roger Federer with his fellow GOAT candidates Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, plus modern-day stars Carlos Alcarz and Jannik Sinner.

But given Murray’s impact on British tennis his brother Jamie felt the snub was disrespectful.
“I mean he was part of the big four for 10 years, maybe more. Obviously he was No 1 in the world and then he smashed up his hip, and since then it’s been tough going for him,” the doubles star said.
“But he won the singles twice in an incredible era of tennis and made another final.
“I thought it was a bit of a slight, especially with everything that he brought to the tournament for so long. The whole country was falling in behind his journey to try to become the champion – but there you go.”
Meanwhile Andy’s uncle Niall Erskine unloaded on Twitter.
“Appalling at every level,” he said.
“All about the men in the forefront and your own British history maker nowhere to be seen. You should be ashamed of yourselves.”
Others pointed out the fact the only women in the artwork were in the background.
